Analog Algorithm – Landscapes of Machine Learning
The photo book by Susanne Huth, published by Fotohof Edition, refers to the “New Topographics”, which in the 1960s represented an artistic but at the same time critical view of the man-made landscape in the western USA.
Susanne Huth takes photographs of the architecture of communities, company headquarters and research institutions in Silicon Valley to show contemporary society. As an analogy to the photographs, the book contains illustrations by Franziska Morlok that examine the digital architectures of Silicon Valley companies–they are abstractions and evolutions of websites of the companies photographed for the book, such as Google, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
The book was shortlisted for the German Photo Book Award 20/21.
