Journal der Künste
Journal der Künste
The Journal der Künste gives an insight into what is currently being created at the Akademie der Künste: it shows the diverse aesthetic perspectives, approaches and forms of production from the Akademie's archive and from the sections. We redesigned the magazine in 2023.
An extensive editorial section contains essays, lectures, artistic interventions, commentaries and cultural-political debates. There are also regular sections such as “News from the archive”, “Findings” and “Carte blanche”.
Issue 22 of the Journal of the Arts bids farewell to Jeanine Meerapfel with an interview and Kathrin Röggla with a literary text from the Presidium of the Akademie der Künste. With Matěj Spurný, Eva von Redecker and Iris ter Schiphorst, it addresses the possibility of utopias in a time of multi-perspective crises.
Journal der Künste 21
The first issue we designed in 2023 dealt with issues of sustainability with texts and photo series on the exhibition “The Great Repair”. There are also literary contributions by Ulrike Draesner and Cécile Wajsbrot, conversations with Luc Tuymans and Gundula Schulze Eldowy and short essays by Anna Hetzer and Moshtari Hilal.
