Bang Bang Baroque

Emma Waltraud Howes shows the opera “Bang Bang Baroque” (2024) in her first solo exhibition “The Time it Takes” at the Musée d'art de Joliette. She uses a maximalist aesthetic in which the personal and the political, relationships and the social, the vegetable, the animal and the mineral, the imaginary and the tangible are combined. We have designed a libretto for this that shows the text of the aria, choreographic details and notes parallel to the film. The typography also takes up the staging in terms of design and works with a fluid (un)legibility.
